SAINT GERMAIN DES PRES CAFE 11 -A/V Number of Disc: 2 CD.. Uscita: 27/11/2009 Label: Wagram Saint Germain des Pres is way more than a Paris district. Saint Germain is a whole universe on its own : imagine small jazz clubs with a smoky atmosphere where artists and intellectuals of all kinds used to meet up, witnessed by such eternal characters as Boris Vian or Albert Camus. After the war, Bee bop also started in Saint Germain des Pres. A few years later, flattererd by American Jazz great acceptation in Paris, American press confirmed Saint Germain des Pres fame while Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis trumpets kept resounding in these mythic club cellars. After more than one million records sold worldwide, the Nu Jazz reference compilations collection Saint Germain des Pres Cafe carries on, with this 11th volume dedicated to all Nu Jazz trends, would they be acoustic, instrumental, vocal or electro. This demanding and eclectic selection will take you for a new journey through the latest jazz trends, with the great participation of Belleruche who took over the CD2 mix. Belleruche's sound - a mix between hip hop, electro and blue - is quite specific and took its influences listening to Sarah Vaughan's voice, Django Reinhardt guitar, and Cut Chemist's desks. This trio from Brighton, UK, is composed by Kathrin deBoer (voice), Ricky Fabulous (guitars) and Dj Modest(desks). In 2006, Belleruche released a vinyl limited edition, on their own label Hippoflex, including the 'Four Songs EP'. It quickly ran out of stock and Belleruche started to have a name in the UK and in Europe. In 2007, the talents nest label Tru Thoughts (Alice Russell, Quantic, TM Juke…) signed Belleruche and their first album 'Turntable Soul Music' got released in July the same year. Success has began for Bellreuche, and the trio started to tour around Europe and Asia. In October 2008, second successful album for Belleruche, 'The Express'. The first track taken from 'The Express' , 'Anything you want', became ITunes single of the week, while 'The Express' charted at the first ITunes electro position. Now Belleruche set out to conquer the US market, and works on a new EP scheduled for Fall 2009.
